MWT points

The FIIM system builds a line of tournaments and Championships in different countries and cities. Each tournament is assigned a category: from 1 to 7 stars.
In each tournament, all participants receive points depending on their place in the standings.

Point scoring system based on the results of serial tournaments (updated on July 26, 2022)

1) Any series tournament with fewer than 50 unique players is a 1-star tournament, regardless of difficulty.

2) The minimum number of participants in a series tournament is 30 unique players. If a series tournament is held with fewer unique participants, the tournament will not be added to the MWT grid or will be added outside the ranking.

3) For all other tournaments, the difficulty of the tournament is calculated. The difficulty is calculated as the number of people the tournament winner must defeat..

For example, if the tournament format is as follows:

Qualifiers, series of 10 players, 2 rounds

Semifinals, 1 series of 10 players, 1 round

Finals, 1 series of 10 players

Then the difficulty will be calculated as follows:

Qualifiers: 2 out of 10 advance, 8 are eliminated. Qualifiers = 8

Semifinals, 1 out of 10 advances, 9 are eliminated. Semifinals = 9

Final, 1 wins, 9 are eliminated. Final = 9.

Total tournament difficulty = 8+9+9 = 26

4) The size of any stage cannot exceed 25% of the number of unique players. If the number of players exceeds this limit at any stage of the tournament, the difficulty of that stage is reduced by 10 points.

For example, if there are 80 unique participants in the tournament, then 25% of the participants is 20 people. Thus, neither the selection stage, nor the semifinals, nor the finals can have more than 20 people.

If the final of such a tournament is made for 30 people, the difficulty of this stage (the final) will be reduced by 10 points. With a final of 30 people and 1 winner, the difficulty of the stage is 29, but since 30 people is more than 25% of 80, the difficulty of the stage for the rating will be 19.

Example for a tournament with 80 players, using the formula:

Qualifiers, series of 10 players, 3 rounds

Final, 1 series of 30 players

In this case, the qualifiers give 7 difficulty points (10-3) . The finals give 19 (29-10) difficulty points. Thus, the difficulty of the tournament is 7 + 19 = 26 points.

5) Stars for series tournaments are awarded based on the difficulty of the tournament, after the tournament is completed, according to the following principle:

6) MWT points for serial tournaments are calculated according to the following principle:

Horizontally - the number of points for the tournament, based on the number of stars
Vertically - the player's place in the tournament
